Basic chords in GDad bouzouki tuning of Irish tenor banjo
In the GDad tuning you can play in the key of G. The basic chords in the key G major are
- G 0-0-2-0
- C 0-2-3-(0) or 0-2-3-2 if you do not like open d string in C chord
- and D 2-0-0-0 or D7 2-0-3-0
For some chordal way of fingerpicking you can use the three strings chord shapes you know from mandolin or tenor banjo tuned in fifths.
- G 4-5-5-0
- C 5-5-7-(0)
- D 2-4-5-0 or D7 5-4-5-0
- G 7-9-10-0
- C 9-10-10-(0)
- D 7-7-9-0 or D7 7-10-9-0
- G 12-12-14-0
- C 12-14-15-(0)
- D 11-12-12-0 or D7 11-10-12-0
